Strange Design

And so it was, tonight was one of those nights where a strange design was formed. I am thankful I could be aware it. Night approached at the wine bar and as I got finished training a new hire, while juggling office duties and researching wine a beautiful night was about to unfold. With in a few minutes of each other a couple of old friends walked in the glass doors of the wine shop. Hugging and smiling at how ironic, but perfect it all was Gabe, Bob, Julie, Tara, Jacqui and I opened a bottle of the 2004 Clearwater Creek Bordeaux style Meritage laughing and passing the time. What an awesome group of people. And as I sat back and watched there beautiful faces a dead cover song was on the xm radio which would then seconds later trail into a Trey Anastasio song. We had a few "real" clients in the store, but most wandered in and out content with there window shopping. However one man seemed to rather enjoy our conversations and we were okay with him listening. Later I would come to find he is a famous plastic surgeon on tv. A rather nice gentleman we did a toast and I included him in it while we swapped stories and made each other laugh. Noja, Bob and Julie's dog whom had been in the car had to be let out for a little and this 102 lb golden lab was all love and so well behaved you could just about keel over. Oh my gosh...he had a beautiful coat and quite an angelic soul. His excitement took over him as we hugged him and he wondered in the shop for a moment or two. But as not too ramble on too much I just wanted to say how fortunate I am to have met an amazing group of people through this tiny wine shop and bar that lays on a vortex of a shopping center in Irvine, California. Not to mention earlier this week that same feeling passed over me as I celebrated my dear friend Stephanie's birthday in Laguna with a few great people. Our time together is always a treasure Stephy. These kindred souls have all impacted my life and so it is true friends the prize is the journey. Embrace the moment. Learn from the challenge. Good night.
