...love is in the presence of the lovemaker. This week I have a strong desire to practice letting go of ego and learning about ego. To understand fully may shed some light on this thing called enlightenment. Believing it is attainable in this life is the 1st step, in fact I am aware of a woman whom is enlightened and am currently reading her story. This past weekend I spent in South Lake Tahoe for a good friends wedding and there were different moments that disturbed my sense of clarity or peace. Although our everyday life is blended with these disturbances or shall I say thoughts, however when on a trip you are able to more fully realize your thoughts and try and figure out the root causes. I realize that this is my own ego and nothing else. So, it is important that I remember a cd compilation I made months ago and titled, "Divide to Conquer." I named it this for good reason and that is to teach myself the very lesson right now. To disect and figure out all of those life challenges that have caused ego to build and build, confusing and crowding my inner space. Divide to Conquer by separating all of the fears, anger, frustration, confusion, stressful thought...suffering etc. The list continues fear encompasses many words all crowded in the ego. The ego is quite tricky too, it dresses in many costumes. As I drove to Tahoe with my family (Andy, Joelin and Ruby) we passed fields of trees that were evenly planted in rows and as I glimpsed at the space between each one as I could only catch short instances due to our rapid speed it became clear that the space was in representation of ego clearing. I could see a window to the world or the clear space in between each planted row representing love and compassion. Today at work a man commented on my necklace that I have not been able to take off for several weeks now. It was a piece that I bought a little while ago from a jeweler in Arizona and the carving on it is a chinese dragon. His questions prompted me to look into the origin of the dragon and I figured it may have some reason behind why I have been wearing it for 6 weeks now. Unlike the western dragon which typically has negative energy associations the eastern dragon represents spiraling DNA, the path into greater enlightenment. Dragons are referred to as the divine mythical creature that brings with it ultimate abundance, prosperity and good fortune.
As the emblem of the Emperor and the Imperial command, the legend of the Chinese Dragon permeates the ancient Chinese civilization and shaped their culture until today. Its benevolence signifies greatness, goodness and blessings.
The Chinese Dragon, or Lung , symbolizes power and excellence, valiancy and boldness, heroism and perseverance, nobility and divinity. A dragon overcomes obstacles until success is his. He is energetic, decisive, optimistic, intelligent and ambitious.
So it is with this blog that I affirm to myself that universe or source is behind me as I seek to tame that which we call the ego.
To Joelin, Andy, Ruby and Paul...thanks for being yourselves. You are true phamily.
