Natural Mystic

So it is Halloween and as night approached I decided to go down the street to my sushi spot for a beer, the basketball game and some dinner. I love it there...they always play my reggae music mon. And as I drove back to the retreat with a Peter Tosh disc playing in the background I decided to drive around Cliff Haven enjoying the festivities from a different vantage point then most. As children and parents cruised the streets I was able to watch as they enjoyed the holiday in all its presence. Parents grinning as their children reached the front door step of a haunted home with red lights and cobwebs, little bumblebees, ballerinas, dracula's and dreadheads. You name it, they were out tonight. As I peered in the window of one home a man sat peacefully enjoying his dinner with a bordeaux glass half full of some red wine that awaited his palate. Halloween, a time when the community gathers together to bring imagination and wonderment to their children and maybe just for a moment to us adults whom often forget the innocence of life. So as I drove back to the retreat dimly lit by a light in the hall way I thought to myself, hmmm...life is pretty good. Enjoy the moment, rise above and surrender to the flow. PS To My Dear Niece Ruby, you look adorable in your bumblebee costume, you are the cutest baby I have ever seen in my life. I love you with all my heart. And to Joelin, her mama (a flower for Halloween) you look beautiful sister, as always.
