So for years I was into this show called Felicity. I now hold the library of dvd's that were created and still need to buy a few more seasons. So for those that really know me, you know that I don't watch much television at all, to be honest I never turn it on these days, In fact, months ago while Shanan was in Cuba I asked her if it was kewl that I put the T.V. in the garage! She said, No way Dod's! Hilarious and the thing is is she doesn't watch it much either however I agree with her that it is nice to have it just in case. Movies I watch very seldom, but enjoy when the time is right...however just realize that if you watch a movie with me we need to take a few breaks.
So what was It about this show that I was so attached to? I mean I guess I really never asked myself that question until recently, which is owed to a few friends.
It was Memorial Day Weekend, the weekend of my Birthday! Shanan and I had Ryan and Michael over to kick off the holiday. Most people were at the beach, something we were not about to go embark on. In Ryan's words, it was a "full-on Memorial day nightmare." The beach is so j.p'd (jam packed) that you are basically a sardine! And on top of Ryan being hilarious he is one of the most successful individual's I know. So the four of us decided to, you guessed it! Kick it at the retreat. About four minutes before BBQ time we went to the local hardware store to pick up a grill. We really were living in the present moment, right? We were watching a home made movie of Shanan and Ryan's recent vacation to Cabo and laughing hysterically at Shanan and Ryan's dialogue back and forth, which went something like this. Ryan: "So Shan what are you going to do on your vacation to Cabo?" Shanan: "Well I'll probably start off by ziplining, then scubadiving, boogie boarding, tubing, banana boating, wind surfing, kitesurfing, ziplining, trail blazing, reading, writing, bear watching, bear hunting..." I mean it was absolutely hysterical. Because in actuality they were there for much needed rest and relaxation. More like it would be meditation, tequila, surfing, spa and more tequila.
But after the home video Ryan and Michael wanted to put in one of the Felicity DVD'..it was so rad. They were curious as to why I was so intrigued by this show. I hadn't until that point had a person in my life that asked or wondered what it was that out of all the televsion shows, it was this one that Dodee was so interested in? So I began to ponder it myself searching for the answer. Besides my love for quality coffee/espresso, enjoying art, coziness and good friends I also realized that Felicity was a writer. Maybe only in a fictional sense, but what I am doing now is kind of similar to the way she used to talk into her tape recorder. So maybe that was it all along. Me longing to get out my thoughts like she did, huh? Interesting. So friends I will leave you with a quote from Mr. Robert Nesta Marley..."In the Abundance of Water the Fool is Thirsty." Thank you Ryan and Michael for kicking up the dust a bit and clearing that stone off for me. It is now more clear. Keep surfing and living your dreams!
